Background
Our team is based at Carson High School in Carson City, NV. Our members are from the Carson City School District. This season, we have one Senior, six Juniors, and one Freshman. We compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), one of four international robotics programs offered by the non-profit FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Our season is May - April (with new robot game challenge released in September each year), but we conduct activities all year long, including extensive community outreach. Founded in 2011, we have qualified for the World Championship three times (2012, 2017 and 2019) and have won numerous awards.
Our Name
We gave a lot of thought to our team name, debating over many possibilities. We decided on Cyber Mafia. Cyber represents the technical challenges of the competition; Mafia represents our sense of family.
